Silverpad

What is it?

Silverpad was supposed to be an iPad app, which simplifies the iPad’s functionalities to its very basics, only consisting of several communication, entertainment and assistance features. The target audience were elderly people as well as people with mental or motor limitations.

The name of the game was accessibility, which is why all elements are big, color coded, as blunt as possible and easy to press. The app architecture was as simple as possible, with no pages being deeper than 2 levels.

Additionally, the goal was to connect the app to an eye tracking device in order to use eye-tracking as an input device for people who cannot use their arms or hands.

Unfortunately, due to a loss of funding, the project was not completed.

Who's it for?

The project was initiated and initially funded by an entrepreneur associated with Start:up Slovenia (the project was not associated with them). After 3 months the development stopped after the team did not receive agreed-upon payment.

My role

Silverpad was a project with a small team consisting of me as the designer along with two developers. I took on all design-related responsibilities, from creating a design language, creating assets, designing the architecture and creating a clickable prototype. No design libraries were used.
